Llandudno

Llandudno is an elegant Victorian resort with a long wide promenade perfect for a walk at any time of day. There are numerous attractions including the pier, Great Orme Tramway, Cable Car and the ancient Great Orme Copper Mines.

There is a good choice of shops including national names such as Marks & Spencers, Cotton Traders, Edinburgh Woolen Mill, and Mountain Warehouse, and a large selection of independent shops.

Llandudno has a good selection of restaurants, cafes and bars for eating out. For entertainment, Venue Cymru North Wales hosts concerts and plays throughout the year.

Area around Llandudno

Llandudno is close to the edge of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park with it’s great natural beauty and outdoor activities such as walking, climbing, and mountain biking. Adrenaline loving guests can try the Zip World attractions or Go Below underground experience.

Wales is famous for it’s steam railways and castles. Local steam railways include the Snowdon Mountain Railway, Ffestiniog Railway, and the Welsh Highland Railway. Castles to visit include Conwy Castle, Caernarfon Castle, Dolwyddelan Castle, Criccieth Castle, Beaumaris Castle and Harlech Castle.

The famous gardens at Bodnant are well worth a visit, and the historical houses at Plas Mawr in Conwy, Gwydir Castle, Ty Hyll (The Ugly House), Penrhyn Castle (a folly castle) and Plas Newydd on Anglesey make an interesting day out – and most have a tea room!
